For certain significant upgrades to stackery's functionality, for example the ability to deploy to different AWS regions, you'll need to update your stackery agent. If you see a feature mentioned in these tutorials that you don't have access to in the stackery interface, the most likely issue is your agent version.
This doesn't require any special tools, but after selecting "update" in the Stackery interface you will need to click through quite a few screeens in the Amazon Web Services (AWS) console.
1. Check if you need an update
click on the 'account' menu in the drop-down at the top right.
If the agent version column shows 'Update to Stackery X.X.X', an update is available.
Updating the agent should only affect future deployments, and will not have any effect on stacks previously deployed by stackery.
2. Click through AWS dialogs
The next steps could be summed up by saying 'click next until you click Update' but these are the exact menus you'll see:
Choosing the stack template (auto-populated to point to our new agent)
Leave all options and permissions unchanged (you'll need to scroll down)
and click 'next' with no policy changes
Finally, check the confirmation box and click 'Update'
The update should take a few minutes. After that, reloading any stackery page should show you the new features you were expecting.
